Join us for the Electric League's Monthly Luncheon Meeting and Networking Event, Thursday, February 22, 2007, at Puget Sound Energy's Auditorium in the Conference Center Building, 355 110th Avenue NE, Bellevue, 98004 (See the directions PDF by scrolling down. This month, we will hear from well-known local economist, Jim Hebert of Hebert Research as he presents: "2007 Economic Forecast for the Puget Sound Area". We have had the opportunity to have Mr. Hebert speak to the League on a number of occasions; his presentations are always very informative and interesting.
Advance registration and payment is required. We are taking registration now. Please assist us in our planning by registering early. A late fee applies for registrations received after February 20. About Jim Hebert:
James D. Hebert is the President and founder of Hebert Research, a 25 year old, privately held public policy research firm that serves clients locally, nationally, and internationally. It is ranked 7th in size in the northwest and within the top 10% in the U.S. In addition, he is the director of research for Costco Wholesale, a $20 billion membership club, and has served as the research director for the Seattle Fire Department, Bellevue Police Department, City of Covington Police and Fire, Kirkland Police and Fire, City of Redmond Police and Fire, King County Prosecutors Office as a statistician for public attitudes on one of the nation's largest, historical, and most visible cases.
Mr. Hebert's intellectual properties in the research profession involve his research procedures for price elasticity, demand forecasting and the building of business confidence indexes. These applications were used for estimating demand for, and the impact of, Microsoft's Redmond expansion, the Safeco Field stadium, Seattle Aquarium and Bellevue Art Museum expansion, Woodland Park Zoo, Meydenbauer Center, and many other facilities, programs and events. In addition, Mr. Hebert has published more than 200 articles. He won the Distinguished Lectureship Award from the University of Washington and has been a lecturer to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Small Business Administration and U.S. Department of Energy. Annually, he has an average of 40 public speaking engagements. His commitments to the community involve the following Board of Director positions:

As the senior research director of Hebert Research, he oversees the company's research activities as well as responsibility for his research project portfolio.
Mr. Hebert grew up in Mount Rainier National Park where his love for the outdoors was fostered with his appreciation for the quality of the environment. His formal education was obtained from the University of Washington and Seattle University where he was President of the student body and an honors student. Jim was appointed an adjunct Professor of Business at the University of Washington in 1996. He taught in the area of marketing and statistical methods. Prior to forming Hebert Research, at the age of 29, he was an Assistant Vice President and Manager of Retail Banking for First Inerstate Bank, now Wells Fargo Bank.
