Join us for the Electric League's Monthly Luncheon and Networking Event, Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Puget Sound Energy's Auditorium in the Conference Center Building, 355 110th Avenue NE, Bellevue, 98004. Check-in begins at 11:30 with buffet open at 11:45, followed by announcements and our speaker. The meeting adjourns in the vicinity of 1:00 p.m. Be sure to park on levels P5-P7 of the parking garage - parking vouchers provided.

Advance registration and payment is required, and is being accepted now. Please assist in our planning by registering early. League Members: $25.00; Non-Members $30.00. A late fee applies to registrations received after Tuesday, November 13.

Solar Power: Harnessing Solar Energy Around the World Presented by Jim Duncan of Sparling

Solar energy is an immense resouce that, if utilized for power, can aid in meeting societies energy needs. Building roofs and exterior surfaces are all available as solar collection points. Use of this space for power generation will reduce our reliance on traditional fuels. Significant PV generation can be achieved within the next decade. In the last few years, Jim has traveled to research solar energy in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Zambia, Botswana and Australia. This presentation will include pictures of PV installations from around the world.

Jim Duncan, PE FACEC is Chairman and Chief Engineer of Sparling, the largest electrical engineering and technology consulting firm in the nation with offices in Seattle, Portland and San Diego. Jim leads design of projects such as the Experience Music Project, the University of Washington Law School, and Seattle's U.S. Courthouse.
