OUR SPEAKERS:
Dave Sjoding of the WSU Energy Program and Richard Konieczka of Earth Wind and Power are teaming up to provide an update on fuel cell technology and applications for the future.
Steps toward transitioning to a hydrogen economy continue to move forward. Second generation fuel cell vehicles are now being placed. Fork lifts are an early market with cell tower backup power likely to follow. Stationary fuel cells and laptop computer fuel cells are also beginning to emerge. A major coordinated international effort is underway. Where is the hydrogen? What's the status of the technology's research and development? What about the State of Washington and its place in a hydrogen economy? This presentation by Dave Sjoding will provide a snapshot into this very different set of interlocking technologies.
Richard Konieczka will continue the discussion and focus on stationary fuel cells in the 300kw range and up, as related to distributed generation. In addition, he will explain relativity and how fuel cells work! You won't want to miss this one! Carbon footprint issues will also be discussed.
