THE TOPICS:

What is RCM? How does it benefit your company? What are ESCOs and how do I get them to work for my bottom line? What are the steps, reasons to do them, and some examples of success stories?

Lori Moen, Supervising Engineer, Puget Sound Energy, will address Resource Conservation Management (RCM) and Matt Wegworth, Business Development Manager, McKinstry Company, will cover Energy Services & Performance-based Solutions (ESCOs). Descriptions and Bios below.

Resource Conservation Management (RCM):

Traditional energy management programs focus on the installation of equipment to reduce energy consumption in facilities. While efficient equipment is essential to optimizing energy performance, significant savings can be achieved through improvements to facility operation and maintenance and from behavior changes. Organizations accross the region have reduced utility costs by an average of 10-15% by implementing such a program, commonly referred to as Resource Conservation Management or (RCM). This presentation will provide an overview of the RCM concept; the elements that have proven critical to achieving and demonstrating savings; case studies; and PSE's RCM Support Program which has been designed to help portfolio organizations implement an RCM program.

Energy Services & Performance-based Solutions (ESCOs):

Utilizing an Energy Services & Performance-based Solution approach provides facility owners with an opportunity to address needed infrastructure improvements making for more energy efficient, reliable and sustainable operations. The Energy Services delivery provides clients with an integrated and turnkey performance-based solution that minimizes capital dollars and guarantees performance from the total project costs to the ongoing annual utility savings, helping to bridge the gap between needs and funds.
