Join us for the Electric League's Monthly Luncheon Meeting and Networking Event, Thursday, February 21, 2008, at the Puget Sound Energy Auditorium in the Conference Center Building, 355 110th Avenue NE, Bellevue, 98004. Check-in begins at 11:30 with buffet beginning at 11:45, followed by announcements and our speaker. The meeting adjourns in the vicinity of 1:00 p.m. Be sure to park on levels P5-P7 of the parking garage - parking vouchers provided.
Advance registration and payment is required, and is being accepted now. Please assist our planning by registering early. League Members: $25; Non-League Members: $30. A late fee applies for registrations received after Tuesday, February 19.
FEBRUARY SPEAKER AND TOPIC: "The Pacific Northwest Economic Forecast" presented by Jim Hebert of Hebert Research
On Thursday, February 20, we will hear from well-known local economist, Jim Hebert of Hebert Research as he presents on the locl ecoomy for the upcoming year. We have had the opportunity to have Mr. Hebert speak to the League on a number of occasions. His presentations are always very informative, interesting, and well-attended.
About Jim Hebert:
James D. Hebert is the President and founder of Hebert Research, a 25 year old, privately held policy research firm that serves clients locally, nationally, and internationally. Hebert research was given the Emerging Business Award in 1992 by the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. In 1996, Mr. Hebert was appointed an adjunct Professor of Business at the University of Washingon and specialized in teaching new product development. In 2006 Mr. Hebert was a Professor of Business at Seattle University's graduate school of business.
Prior to forming Hebert Research (at the age of 29) he was an assistant Vice President and Manager of Retail Banking for First Interstate Bank, now Wells Fargo Bank. Additionally, Mr. Hebert has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce and has been extensively involved in public and private jurisdictions. His formal education was obtained from the University of Washington and Seattle University, where he received his Masters Degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Hebert's intellectual properties in the research profession involve his research procedures for price elasticity, demand forecasting and the building of business confidence indexes. He currently serves on the following boards: Seattle University Economics & Finance Advisory Board, Central Washingon School of Business Advisory Board, the KeyBank Regional Advisory Board, Metafos, Geo-Engineers Board, Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE), and Life Support which he serves as both vice chair and co-founder. In addition, he is Vice Chair and Co-Chair of Camp Korey (which now owns Carnation Farms) a camp that serves 1200 children from throughout the Northwest with serious and terminal illnesses.
