"Metering and Monitoring to Manage Energy Costs"
Presented by Bill Younger, Puget Sound EnergyAre your facilities really performing the way you think they are? The first step in any energy management program is to get a clear picture of when and where energy is being used in a facility. Whether the goal is to identify areas for efficiency improvements, validate the performance of new efficiency measures, or just review actual operating schedules, the use of metering tools becomes a critical component of a successful facility management program. This presentation will address the strategic use of dataloggers, submeters, and interval data from utility meters to evaluate performance of systems and facilities and help facility operators and service providers gain a better understanding of how their buildings are performing.
Bill Younger, CEM, is a Senior Energy Management Engineer for Puget Sound Energy in Bellevue, Washington. He has managed energy auditing activities, motor system management programs, and provided technical support for a wide range of demand side management projects, utility tracking and facility management software products, and web-based energy interval data presentment systems. Bill is a nationally recognized instructor for the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and is a ember of AEE's Business Energy Professional Certification Board of Directors.
